REFLECTION

Experience

Advanced Typography has been a journey of growth and discovery for me. Each task challenged me in different ways, from understanding typographic systems to creating my own typeface. While I started out feeling unsure about arranging text or designing letterforms, I gradually became more confident with practice. The tasks pushed me to think creatively and to explore new methods of design. I particularly enjoyed seeing my progress, especially when I completed tasks that seemed impossible at first. This course has helped me appreciate typography more deeply and taught me how to approach challenges with patience and determination.

Observation

I observed that typography is not just about arranging letters—it’s about creating balance, harmony, and meaning. Every small decision, from spacing to alignment, affects the final outcome. I also realized how typography is everywhere around us, and I’ve started noticing it more in everyday life, like in advertisements, packaging, and signs. Paying attention to these details has helped me better understand how typography communicates and how it can evoke different emotions or ideas.

Findings

Through this course, I’ve learned the importance of planning, precision, and creativity in typography. Starting with a clear concept and breaking down tasks into manageable steps made the process smoother and more enjoyable. I discovered that experimenting and being flexible often lead to better results. Most importantly, this module opened my eyes to how powerful typography can be as a design tool. It has made me more observant, confident, and inspired to apply these skills in future projects.
